*Appreciation of painful moments is not a masochistic enjoyment of the same, but rather the recognition of the fact that every act of Kindness is immeasurably empowered when offered despite the pains one is experiencing therein.
“Contrary to what is oft believed, the best moments in our lives are not those that are passive, receptive, relaxing, or even comfortable . Optimal experience is thus not something that happens to us when things are ‘going well’, but is rather something that we make happen when things aren’t as easy or harmonious. For a child, it might be steadily rebuilding a block tower that has already fallen a dozen times, and yet for an adult – just as for a toddler – it comes when mastering the trying times; giving to others in times of lack, being boldly kind to strangers, or taking one more purposeful step along paths swampy or treacherous..” ~ inspired by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
