Remembering Regan … (06/19/2021)
One year ago today, animal rights activist Regan Russell was killed after being run over & crushed to death beneath an 18-wheel animal transport truck during a demonstration outside Sofina Foods Inc. (a subsidiary Fearman’s Pork Inc., a pig slaughterhouse in Burlington, Ontario) … Despite displaying clear an obvious ill will towards the protesters beforehand and obvious recklessness during the act itself, the driver of the truck was not charged with any crime whatsoever (in part due to an embarrassingly unjust Ag-Gag law that had been passed in Canada just the day before) … 🙁
And yet all was not lost, as THOUSANDS of new activists were born that day as a result — inspired by Regan’s courageous gentleness and enraged by the massive cruelties her efforts were exposing before she died.
As such, the protests for JUSTICE (for Regan and for the animals) continue … Indeed, we will never stop fighting for the animals; we will never stop until one day compassion and justice and decency are finally given to ALL …
So my Friends, won’t you consider joining us?
“What happened to this activist is beyond tragic. She was a beautiful, beautiful woman who was kind and compassionate, loved animals, wanted the world to go vegan. She has been doing animal activism for years. She just spoke her mind, she was very articulate. She was a beautiful woman and I can’t believe she is dead. She’s an angel and she was giving thirsty pigs water.” ~ Anita Krajnc, co-founder of both Animal Save Movement & Toronto Pig Save
P.S. Even if you don’t want to protest, you can always GO VEGAN!
