Letting Go (January 29th)

January 29Letting Go: Gather all of your old photos together. Go through them and put one (1) of every three (3) photos into a pile to give away. If some are not “givable”, burn them in a cleansing ceremony this evening.

The more we cleanse ourselves from the things to which we are attached, the more available our innate Kindness becomes during our lives subsequent moments of power (a.k.a our “difficult times”). When confronted by challenges in life, whenever we feel any form of fear (from discomfort to terror to every form of dis-ease in between), it is common for us to return to those things which bring us the most comfort – often memories from our past or current relationships that were founded in our past. We are not required to remove all of these in order to access our deeper, innate Kindness, and yet we must detach from them in order to do so. We must let go of the tendency to use them as emotional crutches. After all, we cannot be powerful unless we act courageously, and we cannot act with courage unless we do so while afraid.

Burning old photos is indeed a very powerful way to release yourSelf from both your past and your present, and yet there are other ways to do so.

We can also cleanse ourselves of our physical luxuries – possessions which keep us focused on our own wealth, as opposed to concentrating on furthering the Peace of others.

sometimes our pictures, even those we find truly beautiful, are more of a hindrance to our journey than a help

We can let go of the rapid pace of our lives – purposefully racing into the future towards goals & dreams, as opposed to pausing in the moment to Care for those next to us Here&Now.

sometimes our pictures inspire daydreams; our hopes for a return to “better days”

And we can simply cleanse ourselves of ourselves by pausing in any moment to feel our Oneness with everything around us – to be grateful for our life as it already is.

it is impossible to See the Beauty of your current life while gazing at a representation of it long-since past

Cleansing in any form is never an easy activity, and yet every time I have done so, I have tangibly felt vast stores of energy washing over me – energies previously invested in my attachments to my past; energies now available to me in my ongoing quest to serve others – and thereby serve my True Self.

See You when I see you …

and until then, Be Now!
