In a move that proved to be all-too-fitting (and has since proved to be all-too-common), Joe Biden responded to a sincere plea for assistance from Charlamagne the God (a popular African-American radio personality & author, whose given name is Lenard McKelvey) with snide condescension — interrupting the host and arrogantly quipping: “If you’ve got a problem figuring out whether you’re for me or Trump, then you ain’t Black.” Biden later backed off that blatantly offensive (and disturbingly dismissive) comment and meekly apologized, and yet Charlamagne remained unfazed by the same, shortly thereafter stating: “I really wish Joe Biden would shut the eff up forever … Old white male leadership has failed America and there is nothing worse than an old white male [who] can’t recognize the faults and flaws of other old white males.”
