Day 065x: A kindness from Claudette … (06/18/2019)

Fortunately, my wait on the place’s gorgeous veranda was short-lived, as I soon saw a car pulling up the drive. I waved and smiled at the couple therein, who were obviously quite shocked to see me (I think most folks who stay there end up booking in advance). The woman in the car (Claudette) then got out of the car, came over to me, and listened to both the story of my Walk and my request to be allowed to sleep on the ground somewhere nearby that night. It was clear that she wasn’t super-thrilled with the idea of me staying on the grounds at all (and her husband even less so, based upon the glowering look on his face), and yet despite the same she proceeded to show me much more kindness than that – letting me into the hostel itself and offering me a place to stay for the night, and bringing me a large pot of leftover peas for dinner to boot! … πŸ˜€

P.S. Here’s the leftover “pea stew” Claudette brought me for dinner … πŸ™‚

And here is the Peace Stone I made for her later that night … πŸ˜€
