Day 064d: Yet another Grace-full Gift … (06/17/2019)
I don’t know who lugged all these massive blocks of stone out here into the wilderness to construct this gorgeous resting place, and yet whoever you are (or were) – Thank You! 😀
“Some of the things that most merit our gratitude we take for granted, others we even despise. For without the Sun we could not live but for a few instants, and yet every day it envelops us with light and warmth, without ever hearing the softest word of thanks. And without oxygen we could not live for more than a handful of minutes, and yet every day we freely breathe in and out, without ever feeling grateful to the air. And without water we could not survive for more than a handful of days, and yet every day we drink it deeply in one form or another, without ever giving value to its refreshment. And yet a lesser known lack of appreciation is by far the most important of all, for without enemies we cannot approach the depths of true Love. And yet every day we are in the presence of strangers who frighten and associates who lambaste and slander and criticize and gossip – priceless opportunities all to enliven and thereby know the raw power of selfless Caring. And yet not only do we refuse to thank these unrequested gifts, but far too often choose to shun & revile them instead.” ~ inspired by Sri Chinmoy
