Day 063r: Embracing the Shade … (06/16/2019)
I have always been someone who didn’t do very well when exposed to long stretches of direct sunlight. Whenever I would be called to work on the farm, I would get up and 5am and put in as many hours as I could before the sun began to burn down. And every time I would go to the beach, I would spend the vast majority of my time under an awning or an umbrella, rather than submit myself to the Sun’s calloused stare. And so here I was – walking all the way from Germany to Tennessee in the very height of summer :O … So you can well imagine how I came to openly & heartily rejoice every time a cloud passed over the Sun or a copse of trees turned my blazing trail into a much cooler causeway … 😀
