Day 061m: When the land bends to The Way … (06/14/2019)

“The route had become a fossilized path: the will of which had cut a gash into this solitary place; a gash so deep that the blood and sap that used to flow there were all long since departed; a gash so hardened that gone too were the circumstances which had guided him to walk its way in the first place. Only a whitish scar remained underfoot; a scar that had been gradually gnawed away by the earth like a flesh repeatedly hewn and just as repeatedly healed. Its direction was vaguely cut into the horizon; much more an ill-defined route than a clear path forward. It was a way so old that, since it forming construction, the very configuration of the surrounding lands had shifted and bent to its whims and will.” ~ inspired by Julien Gracq
