Day 53b: To wisely use our borrowed Time … (06/06/2019)

“He walked out in the gray morning light and stood silently; seeing fully for that most brief of moments the absolute truth of the world. The cold relentless circling of an intestate earth, surrounded by a darkness implacable. And this darkness scythed by the brilliance of the Sun in its spinning. The freezing black vacuum of the universe balanced perfectly by the radiant warmth of that glowing life-giver. The hopelessness of the icy vacuum countered by the ubiquitous hope of a most scintillating light. And somewhere below it all a still-primitive simian species, puffing up its collective chest in faux bravado & manufactured hubris — all while trembling wide-eyed like ground-foxes cornered in their cover. Borrowed time coming to an end, borrowed world beginning to rebel, borrowed eyes with which to sorrow it all, and a borrowed will with which — even if but for a day; even if but for one fellow being — to boldly set forth and change life for the better.” ~ inspired by Cormac McCarthy
