Day 52l: Knowing the same Pain … (06/05/2019)

The Path got relatively steep and quite rocky again as I approached and then finally entered the city of Saugues, where I come across Pierre, a fellow pilgrim from French Canada who was experiencing joint pain very similar to my own. We bonded a bit over the same (while also marveling at how surprised we both were that walking downhill — on even the slightest of grades — would prove to be so much more uncomfortable than even our steepest ascents), and then I wished him well and hobble-limped onward … 🙂

“Perhaps each path’s smoother stones can teach us to more deeply appreciate the way life tumbles and hones our own rough edges. Perhaps we can learn to allow the wear and tear we’ve sustained to mellow our attitudes and smooth our personalities as well.” ~ inspired by Susan Wiener
