Day 46m: The very Beginning of LOVE … (05/30/2019)
After my delightfully enjoyed repast of fresh bread and chocolate, the way became gradual and smooth (or was that the cocoa powder doing the talking?) and I reveled easily in a long & smooth descent into the small city of St. Julien-Molin-Molette. I walked to its Catholic church and paused there — both to rest my weary legs and ease my pondering mind; a mind that had been only recently thinking more than a bit about The Way of selfless Love as taught & embodied by Jesus Christ in the Bible’s four Gospels, as well as how the Christian church has almost completely overlooked &/or overtly altered the same … 🙁
“The beginning of Love is to let those we adore be perfectly & completely themselves, and not to pressure them to fit our own preferred image of the same. Indeed, to do otherwise is not to truly Love them at all, but rather adore only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.” ~ via Thomas Merton
