Day 45f: To boldly challenge the Normal … (05/29/2019)
Quite thankfully, my hips felt almost back to normal today (though they would continue to flare up painfully every now & then for many more weeks to come) and I was able to walk well enough all the way to the small city of Clonas sur Vareze, where I encountered an unusually uncomfortable obstacle that would challenge me periodically for the rest of my pilgrimage — that being, finding a usable restroom … :O
You see, aside from the fact that the average men’s room stall regularly proved to be an almost toxic health-hazard, my pseudo-frozen hips made squatting to any angle or degree practically impossible. So in cases like the one pictured below, what was a pilgrim to do but go next door and use the far more physiologically feasible (and thankfully also far cleaner) “female” alternative? … :O 😉 😀
“It’s pointless to run around trying to heal our friends. After all, we cannot effectively force others to change. Each person is here to work out his or her own lessons, and if we try and fix it for them then they will just go out and do it all again, essentially because they have not worked out what they needed to do for themselves. All we can do is show them our brightest way. All we can do is Love them even while they fail to See the same. And all we can do is remain ready & willing to Care for them regardless of who they choose to be.” ~ inspired by Louise L. Hay
