Day 43c: The Way of LOVE … (05/27/2019)

I flowed out of Le Grand Lemps to the very outskirts of town, where my attention was suddenly drawn towards a “Route 66” sign attached to a nearby home’s mailbox. Intrigue alone was enough to inspire me to saunter up the driveway and ask for some water for the road, whereupon Edith & Roland (the lovely residents thereof) treated me not only to some ice-cold hydration, but also to a delightful conversation about the austere nature of my Peace Pilgrimage (explaining my choice to walk without money — and essentially with only the clothes on my back — with the gentle quip: “I walk for Peace in my heart, while only carrying Peace on my person”) and the abject attainability of Peace itself … 😀

“Let us compare our hearts to a garden;
with beautiful blooms and straggling weeds
both swooping birds and sunshine,
regular storms and rainfall and,
by far most important of all, seeds.”
