Day 42e: Justice & LOVE – both better late than never β¦ (05/26/2019)
I flow into the small town of Valencogne, unwittingly stop in at the local town hall during a regional election and ask if I could to vote for the Animal Rights Party, enter the Catholic church next door, park myself under a gentle statue of a prayerful St. Anthony*, and pray myself that ALL beings might one day know Joy & Peace β¦ π

*St. Anthony is, among other things, the Patron Saint of Pigs, with dogmatic legend having it that he was, while on a solitary spiritual retreat, tempted by Satan in the form of a fierce and quite aggressive wild pig. Anthony purportedly (and indeed quite ignorantly) “defeated” said temptation by beating the pig to death — an act that actually flew directly in the face of (and absolutely contradicted) all of Jesus’ teachings on courage and forgiveness and love β¦ π β¦ Nevertheless, the pig was apparently transformed thereafter into a docile version thereof, and at that point became Anthony’s devoted and gentle companion, making the ultimate moral of the story the Truth that Kindness — like veganism — always comes better late than never β¦ π
