Day 40e: Making mini-Monuments … (05/24/2019)

Whenever I found an intriguing stone along the path I tended to pick it up and carry it with me — either to give to someone I would later meet along the way, or (as in this particular case) to add some additional form &/or beauty to the various cairn-tributes with which previous pilgrims had adorned The Way before me … πŸ™‚

β€œIf you want to hear the distant voice of the ocean, you can put your ear to the lips of a seashell. If you want to hear the Voice of God, you can place your ear upon the chest of any living being. If you want to be awakened from slumbering through life, you can see your surroundings through anyone’s eyes other than your own. And if you want to attend to the inner voice that ever correctly directs your personal pilgrimage through life, you must find a way to go beyond mere seeing and hearing and feeling and comprehending. If you want to truly Know your Way, you must choose to deeply care for something – anything – that is greater than yourself. And then – after doing so – you must have both the gall and the gumption to act accordingly.” ~ inspired by Curtis T. Jones
