Day 38e: Doing by making DO … (05/22/2019)
When I was first thinking about walking HOME from Germany, I had thought I would bring an umbrella along — as much to shield me from the Summer’s blazing sun as from its sporadic storms. And yet, as it turns out, intentionally refusing to do so (in order to give passersby the ever-ready opportunity to provide me with the same — to know the pure Joy that only comes to those who choose to give to others who can give nothing in return) proved to be of little consequence; with the larger trees and occasional awnings passed along the path providing me with ample shelter from The Walk’s occasional rainstorms, and my trusty bandana offering my head a constant & steady respite from the Sun’s more glaring moments … 😉
“Have bold courage during the great sorrows of life and persistent patience during the small ones. And at the end of each day, after you have diligently worked through your daily tasks, let them all go and drift to sleep in peace. Most importantly of all, regardless of what has come or what is seemingly on its way, never fear thereafter — for the Divine within you is ever alive and eager to take on its next challenge.” ~ inspired by Victor Hugo
