Day 37c: Best teachers; greatest Lessons … (05/21/2019)
“The best teachers have always showed me that things are ever a process, that tasks must ever be completed bit by bit. Indeed nothing that means anything happens quickly. Even the motion of drawing back a bow and sending an arrow straight into a target — a skill that only takes a split second — is a smooth conglomeration of forethought, and a skill many years in the making. So it is with any deed, and so it is with life overall. In truth I can list things that might be described as my accomplishments, and yet each & every one of them is but a shadow of a much larger truth; small fragments separated from their whole cycle of becoming. And if I can tell you an age-old story now about a man who is now walking a longer pilgrimage, it is only because I have also spent many years beforehand walking about myself — listening to the voices of people and animals and trees and stones, and gently interacting with the same.” ~ inspired by Joseph Bruchac
