Day 36d: An angelic Serenade … (05/20/2019)
I head into Charly’s cute little town-chapel to rest and decide to head up into its tiny balcony to write for awhile … No sooner did I get situated to start doing so than two pilgrims entered below me, sang a beautiful song (the harmonies of which were bounced around beautifully by the sanctuary’s age-old acoustics), and then left as quietly as they had arrived ( :O ) … I remained awhile thereafter to soak up the solace of the place, and then bid my stained-glass sentinels (Saint James & Saint Peter) adieu before heading back out onto The Way … 😀
“The pilgrimage provided a sense of purpose as it steadily knitted my life into the landscape. Months were replaced by the smoothly shifting seasons, and weeks were measured in regular rounds of worship. Frequently pausing in monasteries and churches calmed all that was restless within me, and during those regular times of quiet I noticed how the minutes slowed and the silence assembled thick around and within me, until my days became worth far more than they had ever been deemed before.” ~ inspired by Guy Stagg
