Day 33h: Befriending a 2nd Santa … (05/17/2019)

I left the sanctuary, physically still hobbled yet spiritually re-tanked, and headed over to knock on the parsonage next door. After waiting several minutes and wondering if I was going to have to amble onward to town’s “next” & “further” for the day’s place of rest, pastor Ken McKinney (from Memphis, Tennessee, no less! :O ) opened up, listened briefly to my Walk’s tale, instantly offered me shelter for the night in the church’s expansive youth room, made me a welcome-home coffee, brought me a smattering vegan food and quite the soft sleeping bag, told me a lovely story about a hummingbird trying to put out a forest fire (the moral thereof being that we have all been called to enthusiastically do our own small-yet-still-significant parts to bring Goodness to bear in the world), gave me a super-warm Kris-Kringle-type hug, and then bid me goodnight & farewell … 😀 😀 😀
