Day 28d: Respite in the Now … (05/12/2019)

I walk on slowly yet steadily, out of Moudon and through its sister township of Bressonnaz-Dessus and into the woods beyond. My hip-flexor starts to freeze up once again at this point, and I begin to grab my left pants-leg and pull upward with every other step to help my left leg onward ( :O ) … I hobble on that way for what seemed like quite awhile, all the way into the outskirts of the village of Vucherens, where I blessedly encounter my Walk’s very first open evangelical church … I am the only one there at the time, and I gratefully sit down and prop up my aching feet on one of the backrow pews; softly whistling a minor-key chorale to both The Way and my humble resolve to persistently follow the same — accompanied by escalating gusts of wind rumbling off the small chapel’s walls; reveling deeply in the snug sanctuary’s blanket of peaceful solitude, all while gazing out a nearby window — watching the next rainstorm steadily approaching on a not-so-distant horizon … 🙂

“Vulnerability is the birthplace of Love; the primary source of all senses of belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the birthplace of empathy, accountability, and authenticity, and the only abode of clarity and resolve. If we wish to attain a greater purpose or a more meaningful spiritual life, then Love is the only way thereto, and vulnerability its only route.” ~ inspired by Brené Brown
