Day 22e: A less-than-gracious Grace … (05/06/2019)
It took hours of wandering and backtracking, guided by the often incorrect yet ever-helpful intentions of many local residents, to finally cross the city limits of Biel. And yet no sooner did my relief over that miraculous escape set in than I experienced my next physical set-back: this time a pulled hip-flexor that seized up sharply as I entered a small chapel just past the outskirts of town … :O
How fitting that the main stained glass window therein depicted Jesus carrying a lone lamb — symbolizing NOT the church-fostered belief that Jesus himself saves even the weakest or most injured among us, but rather the core Truth of his teaching: namely, that WE are the ones who have been called to embody that same courageous caring, especially in those moments when we feel least able or are least willing to do so … 🙂
