Day 21b: To be fully in LOVE … (05/05/2019)

My shin splint is still aching quite a bit this morning, so I downshift to a verrrrrry slow (and thus verrrry smooth) shuffle-amble tempo that I started to call my “monk gear” … πŸ™‚

I walk for more than a few kilometers along a lovely riverside pathway thereafter and realize while doing so that it is dampness — not the mere cold — that makes pilgrimage unpleasant for me, and as such I found myself smiling openly & serenely through the storm; gratefully reveling in the misty snowfall that sprinkled down upon me from above and lightly bounced off my clothes to the path below … πŸ˜€

“His countenance was neither euphoric nor sad. Indeed, he seemed to be smiling ever so gently – almost inwardly. It was a deep-seated almost-secret smile, not unlike that of a toddler’s during exploratory play; calmly and peacefully — in complete harmony with all around him and fully in love with the world.” ~ inspired by Herman Hesse
