Thomas 1:81 … Renouncing to Reap (12/24/16)
“Let all who have power renounce it.”

Keep in mind that Jesus is speaking here of the primal, self-focused, non-capitalized “power” of the ego – the “power” we have to manipulate others with our dishonesty; the “power” we have to harm others with our aggression; the “power” we have to frighten others with our threats; the “power” we have to sadden others with our criticisms; the “power” we have to anger others with our insults …
We all have this damaging (and ultimately counterproductive) “power” at our disposal, and it is indeed impossible to Love others selflessly (the source of our only true Power) until we willingly renounce the same.
Amen … Let it be so.
