Shortly thereafter, one of the twelve, Judas Iscariot – some say influenced by Satan – went to the chief priests and asked, “What will you give me if I hand Jesus over to you?” When the priests heard this, they were greatly pleased, and offered to give Judas thirty pieces of silver for the completion of the deed.
