Page 42 … a Renewing of Minds
You then quote both Colossians 3:9 & Romans 12:2 – and as I read their words I found myself wondering why you yourself are not heeding the brilliant Wisdom of these verses – wondering why you & yours are ignoring their Truth in relation to how you are thinking about homosexuality & how you are treating homosexuals.
Maybe you will consider doing so now …
“Be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God – all that is good and acceptable and perfect … You have laid aside the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him.” ~ Romans 12:2 + Colossians 3:9
You then state that, “Christians aren’t sinless, they try to be sinless. God is less interested in our overall performance and more interested in the effort we put forth to imitate God.”
When I read this, I immediately thought back to the very picture that started this entire conversation; a picture that showed two male lovers – two devout CHRISTIAN male lovers – two men who are undoubtedly trying very hard to live a Divine Life according to the Will of God. Indeed, one of them is even an ordained Christian minister – a man who not only has openly professed to worship Jesus Christ as his only Lord & Savior, but someone who preaches the same on Sundays … And you & Bart won’t go hear him preach?!?!? … Even though you both are admittedly just as sinful as he ever will be?!?!?! … And even though your God is the one who made those men gay in the first place?!?!?! … That, my dear Friend, is hypocrisy – and a highly bigoted form of hypocrisy at that!
