Page 263 … a rambling Grace
“God’s grace … includes our being purified as God’s own special people” and that this gift then makes you & yours “zealous for good works.”
Well, in response to this claim I think Jesus would simply remind you all of a number of Truths – that your arrogance regarding the Scriptures does not become you (see Matthew 18:3-4), that his Father plays no favorites whatsoever (see Psalms 145:8-9 & Isaiah 25:6-8 & Zephaniah 3:9 & Matthew 5:48 & Matthew 18:14 & Luke 3:6 & John 10:16 & John 12:32 & John 12:47 et al), that the Good Works you mention must precede your Salvation – and are not a mere hollow consequence thereof (see John 13:15-17), and that worshiping a God who allows homosexuals to burn forever does not qualify as a Good Work in any way, shape or form – and has nothing at all to do with God’s real, unconditionally given Grace (see Luke 4:18-19); a blessing that is not a sporadic gift, but a constant given!
“It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall ALL be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father [ultimately] comes to me.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 6:45)
Then you wander off into a short ramble about “Grace” (a concept that still eludes even the most learned of Biblical scholars) stating that “grace does not replace the laws of God … Rather, grace gives us a new beginning, a chance to start life over in harmony with God’s teachings — which include the great spiritual principles embodied in His law.”
I was wondering, my Friend, will you consider providing a Bible reference that specifically supports this contention – namely, that the Grace of Christ is actually in support of the Old Testament laws? The only one I can find actually refutes this point … Consider:
“The Law indeed was given through Moses;
and yet grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”
~ John 1:17
