Page 285 … Woe to you, all Scribes & Pharisees!

You then do us all yet another great Kindness by mentioning Matthew 23:15, a verse which states, “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees.  You hypocrites! For you compass sea and land to make one convert, and yet when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of Hell than yourselves”, for this is just about as accurate a vision of what the conservative, evangelical members of the modern-day Christian church (a la you & yours) are doing to the ignorant & the poor around the world as one could hope to find – with its dogma actually leading them away from The Way of Christ (a Way of humble service that could bring them immediate Salvation) by scaring them with visions of a cruel & unjust God in the Hereafter.  Jesus despised such silliness above all else it seems, and you & yours would be wise to cease & desist with such shenanigans and start walking his Way instead!

Do not judge, so that you may not be judged.  For with the judgment you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get …Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.  Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:1-2 + 18:3-4)

Next, you refer to Matthew 23:33, a verse which which states, “Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of Hell?” … Of course, what you might have failed to realize is that Jesus is speaking to the scribes and the Pharisees here – to the religious leaders of his day; namely, to the keepers of the Old Testaments laws; the same laws that you & yours are using in this very thread to callously & hypocritically condemn the sins of homosexuals – and thereby actually lead them away from the Kingdom of Christ!

“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you lock people out of the Kingdom of Heaven.   For you do not go in yourselves, and yet when others attempting to enter [see John 13:34-35], you stop them from doing so.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 23:13)

“Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 16:6)

“My brothers, I am a Pharisee.” ~ Paul (Acts 23:6)
