Page 431 … What Jesus said

“When you say, ‘Jesus said nothing about homosexuality’, you [are] revealing that you really haven’t understood Scripture, or who Christ was and is.” … Ummmmm, actually – No.  When I make the claim that Jesus never said anything concretely about homosexuality, I am merely relaying a basic Truth about the contents of the Scriptures (or in this case, a lack of said content), and I am also assuming the best of Jesus’ character (seeing him as one who fights for the rights of the downtrodden and the oppressed) instead of the worst  (someone who trashes those rights and oppresses those victims).

No one objectively knows who Jesus truly was, Lucy – not even you (and certainly not Paul), and yet we each get to read the Scriptures and see him as we wish to see him – either as a lesser “Son of Man” who condemns the unworthy, or as a great Son of God who Loves and cherishes everyone – saint & sinner alike.  I am merely assuming that he (the great hater of hypocrisy that he was) was not a hypocrite; that he (the despiser of callousness & injustice that he was) was not cold hearted & unjust – and therefore that he would have nothing to do with persecuting homosexuals, and certainly would never support any Old Testament law that does the same.

My dear Friend, if you are going to use the writings of Paul to make Jesus into your own image, that is fine by me.   I can’t stop you from doing so, and the all-Loving Father of Christ has already forgiven you for the same.  Of course, before you can ever hope to enter the Kingdom of Heaven that Jesus wanted us all to enter (see Luke 17:20-21), you too will have to repent from your arrogance & your hypocrisy & your intolerance – you too will have to cease blaspheming against your kind & loving Holy Spirit within (see Matthew 12:31-32) … But I leave that glorious moment of redemption to be manifested by the only two beings who can ever hope to do so – namely, you & the heavenly Father …

“Therefore I tell you, people will be forgiven for every sin and every blasphemy, and yet blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 12:31-32)
