Page 459 … the continuing revelation
“The New Testament is a continuing revelation of God’s interaction with humanity. God hated idolatry in the Old Testament (Deuteronomy 5:8), and He still hates it in the New (1 John 5:21).”
YES, my Friend! I agree with this statement wholeheartedly … And, ironically enough, you & yours have not only chosen to worship Jesus in a manner that makes him into a idol (ahead of or equal to the Father, a position that he himself did not advocate and an “honor” that he himself did not desire – see Mark 10:18, John 5:41, John 6:15, John 7:16, John 8:50-54, John 12:44, etc), but you & yours have also chosen to do so in direct violation of the humble, perfect, unconditional LOVE that Jesus’ Gospel was all about! Again, please consider the Word of God …
“Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity … because they exchanged Truth about God for a lie, and worshipped and served the created rather than the Creator.” ~ Paul (inadvertently writing about his own “gospel” in Romans 1:25)
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:3-4)
“A new commandment I give to you, that you Love one another. Just as I have Loved, so you also are to Love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples: if you show Love for one another.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 13:34-35)
