No, my dear Lucy, the Truth of the matter is that Jesus himself would loudly & firmly differ with you once again. For the only truly good news is the Good News – the Gospel of Jesus Christ – his Good News:
* … a Gospel that reminds us all that the Kingdom of Heaven is available right now in every waking moment of our lives (see Matthew 10:7 + Luke 17:20-21);
* … a Gospel that it is available to all those (Christian & non-Christian; gay & straight alike) who are willing to drop their conservative condemnations of others and enter instead into a life of Loving them (see Matthew 18:3-4 + John 13:15-17);
* … a Gospel that is here for all who are willing to realize that we are indeed all “sinners” – that none of us have attained the measure of perfection required to have the necessary standing to condemn or even mildly criticize the victimless sins of anyone else (see Matthew 23:25-26 + Matthew 7:1-5);
* … a Gospel that is open to all who would replace our arrogant (and often ignorant) certainties about the Scriptures and the nature of God with a humble Faith in a Bible of a far greater Wisdom – and a heavenly Father of far greater Grace (see Matthew 7:21 + Luke 6:36);
* … and a Gospel available to all who would come to realize that it is a sin in & of itself to damn anyone merely for being who she or he was born to be – that to do so; to morally equate another person’s innate (or even his or her chosen) expression of Love with the violent crimes of theft or murder is in & of itself a mortal sin – that to do so is in & oft itself a direct violation of everything Jesus preached and everything he commanded – that to do so is in & of itself the very deed that most demands repentance!
