Page 503 … gaining His approval
“This issue is complicated because unlike many other sins, the homosexual is often in search of approval for his/her actions, which is something that I as a believer simply cannot give.”
Oh my … What a cold thing to say, my Friend! Not only is it bigoted & callous & indeed downright cruel (considering the repulsively barbaric consequences that such a belief inherently carries with it for all gays – if it turns out to be true), but it is also a direct violation of everything Jesus taught and everything he stood for … Lucy, I don’t know who wrote this particular article that you are obviously quoting [I subsequently found out – see footnotes 49 & 50 on page 497], and yet I have faith that it is now quite clear that you need to distance yourself from such false prophets as quickly as possible!
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. In the same way that every good tree bears good fruit, bad trees bear bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus you will know them by their fruits.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:15-16)
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” ~ 1 John 4:1
“Beloved, do not imitate what is evil but imitate what is good. Whoever does good is from God; whoever does evil has not yet seen God.” ~ 3 John 1:11
“Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? … You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your neighbor’s … You hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup [of others], but inside are full of self-indulgence … First clean the inside of your own cup, so that the outside may also then become truly clean … Do not judge by mere appearances; judge with righteous discernment.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:3-5, Matthew 23:25-26 & John 7:24)
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven … Be merciful, just as your heavenly Father is merciful.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:3-4 + Luke 6:36)
“Then Peter came and said to him, ‘Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often should I forgive him? As many as seven times?’ And Jesus said to him, ‘Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-times-seven times.’” ~ Matthew 18:21-22*
[*NOTE that 70 in this verse represents “everyone” – including homosexuals (see the 70 nations of humanity mentioned in Genesis 10), while 7 was known to mean “completely” for the Jews of Jesus’ day (i.e. without judgment of any kind).]
