Page 577 … Choosing your God wisely
“When I speak I desire to speak as if God were speaking through me.”
This is noble approach indeed, my Friend, and I myself attempt to do likewise. Of course, whenever doing so, it is very important for us all to remember which version of God we are accessing, as we will end up getting very different sets of inspiration from the various alternatives found in the Scriptures … For example:
*If we wish to speak as if the God of the Old Testament is speaking though us, then we will denigrate others’ sins, treat others harshly, and ultimately bear the bad fruit of anger & indignation …
*If we wish to speak as if the God of Paul is speaking through us, then we will condemn others’ differing beliefs, treat others haughtily, and ultimately bear the bad fruit of hatred and frustration …
*If we wish to speak as if the God of Revelation is speaking through us, then we will damn others to an eternity of torment, treat others aggressively, and ultimately bear the bad fruit of sadness and terror.
*And yet if we wish to speak to others as if the Father of Jesus Christ is speaking through us, then we will end up encouraging others to walk Jesus’ Way, treating others humbly & gently with radical acts of sincere & non-judgmental Kindness, and bearing the Good Fruits of Harmony, Joy & — ultimately – Salvation in this lifetime!
