Page 618 … the very Word(s) of God
“The Word of God is what we try to live by, and it is the inspired Word of God.”
Fair enough, my dear Lucy – I just so happen to wholeheartedly agree. And it is because I wholeheartedly agree that I ask you this very important question: If you & yours truly believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, the why don’t you heed its advice whenever you speak about homosexuals &/or homosexuality? Here, the words of your Lord & Savior on the matter:
“Do not judge, so that you may not be judged … Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? … You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly enough to remove the speck from your neighbor’s … You hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup [of others], but inside are full of greed and self-indulgence … First clean the inside of your own cup, so that the outside might also become truly clean … Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom … Let [she] who is without sin cast the first stone.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:1-2 + Matthew 23:25-26 + Matthew18:3-4 + John 8:7)
P.S. Also, please keep in mind that adopting the way of interpreting the Scriptures that I am providing in this thread* allows Christians to take the entire Bible literally, while your way requires weaving back and forth between taking comfortable verses literally and uncomfortable ones metaphorically … Regardless, please consider the following verses the next time you feel inspired to speak critically about homosexuality or of homosexuals, and please consider taking them literally to Heart:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in Heaven … If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my Love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his Love … And this is my commandment: that you Love one another just as I have Loved you.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:21 + John 15:10-12)
*NOTE: In Jesus’ day the 613 Old Testament laws had become impractical, overbearing and even counter-productive as a means of guiding the people to purely embrace the heavenly Father, so Jesus began a ministry designed to radically amend those laws to make God more accessible (see pages 534-539 or 651-656 herein); whereafter Paul – having neither met Jesus in person nor heard him speak in the flesh – turned those same Way-centered teachings on their head and started actually preaching a counter-gospel; one that has today unfortunately become the Jesus-centered creed of the modern-day Christian church.
