Page 639 … a sufficient Guide

“[The Bible] is a sufficient guide that tells us how we might be given eternal life with God.”

Yes, in many ways this statement is true.  Of course, for any Christian (and for any non-Christian, for that matter), the key is listening not to what every Biblical messenger has to say about attaining “eternal life”, but rather to what Jesus says about the same, so let’s consider his words now, shall we?

“And as you go, proclaim the Good News: The Kingdom of Heaven is [even now] at hand … And because of the increase of lawlessness, the LOVE of many will grow cold. And yet the one who endures [in LOVE] to the end will be saved.  And this Good News of the Kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the world … Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom … And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent … The Kingdom of God is not coming with things that can be seen … For in fact, the Kingdom of God is already within you … Not everyone who merely says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who DOES the will of my Father in Heaven … For I have set you an example, that you also should do for others exactly as I have done to you … If you understand these things, blessed are you while you DO them … And on that day you will know that I am in my Father, and that you are in me, and that I am in you … So I give you a new commandment: that you Love one another. Just as I have loved you, so also should you Love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are my disciples: when you show Love towards one another … This is my commandment: that you Love one another just as I have Loved you …

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it.  For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it … And yet everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened … Be perfect [in LOVE] therefore, just as [the LOVE] of your Father in Heaven is perfect … There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love casts out fear.  For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in Love.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 10:7 + Matthew 24:12-14 + Matthew 18:3-4 + John 17:3 + Luke 17:20-21 + Matthew 7:21 + John 13:15-17 + John 14:20 + John 13:34-35 + John 15:12 + Matthew 7:13-14 + Matthew 7:8 + Matthew 5:48) & 1 John 4:18

Jesus’ Way is indeed “The Narrow Gate” to an enlightend life of Bliss and Peace, and we can never hope to know the Joys thereof by merely worshiping him or praying for the same … No, as Jesus himself so clearly said, the only way to know Salvation is not to merely pray to the gate, but rather to WALK THROUGH IT!
