Page 717 … Remembering sins no more

“The Bible verse that says ‘I’ll remember your sins no more’ is not an excuse to take God for granted.  It is to assure that the sinner who has repented knows that the ‘accuser of the brethren’ has no power over them.”

Well, my Friend, in one word (and in many senses) – NO! … First of all, for those who might not be aware, the phrase “accuser of the brethren” (from Revelation 12:10) relates specifically to Satan, far unlike the verse you mention (Hebrews 8:12) which is a direct communiqué between God and each & every one of us.    Far more importantly, Jesus himself made it clear enough (albeit cryptically so) that those who follow his Way will be immune to the temptations of the Devil … Indeed, Jesus exemplified his own selfless Way in Matthew 4:1-10 when he withstood Satan’s guiles, and whomever uses the same formula in their everyday life will be similarly immune (see John 16:33 + John 13:15-17).   According to Scripture, Satan fell to Earth and his way of fear & conflict (& arrogance, & pettiness, & violence, & lust, & deceit) indeed still has great influence over the Earth – and yet Jesus came to provide us all a way to transcend that Darkness; a Way to transform our lives by entering his Kingdom of Heaven (see Luke 17:20-21) via ceasing our arrogant judgment of others (see Matthew 18:3-4 + Matthew 7:1-5) and engaging them with acts of selfless LOVE & Kindness instead (see Matthew 24:12-24)!

“And those will come out—those who have done good to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation … Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes has eternal life … Whoever believes in me, will DO the works I do.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 5:29 + John 6:47 + John 14:12)

“If you continue in my Word [i.e. the application of his teachings], then you are truly my disciples; and you will thereby know the Truth, and the Truth will make you free.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 8:31-32)

“When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, ‘Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.’  And once again he bent down and wrote on the ground.  When they heard it, they went away, one by one, beginning with the elders; and Jesus was left alone with the woman standing before him.  Jesus straightened up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”   She said, “No one, sir.”

And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you.” ~ John 8:7-11
