Page 811 … calling on the Name of the Lord

Thereafter you cite Romans 10:13 to say that, “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”, and yet you neglect to mention that Jesus made it very clear how we were to do so – that he made it very clear how we are to “call upon the Lord” – namely, with actions that are as humble as they are selfless!

Here again (for you to Hear, again), the words of Jesus Christ:

“Not everyone who merely says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who DOES the will of my Father in Heaven … Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I tell you?” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:21 + Luke 6:46)

Be perfect [in LOVE] therefore, just as [the LOVE] of your Father in Heaven is perfect … There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love casts out fear.  For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in Love.” ~ Matthew 5:48 + 1 John 4:18

“For I have set you an example, that you also should do for others exactly as I have done to you … If you understand these things, blessed are you while you DO them … By this everyone will know that you are my disciples:  that you show Love towards one another … My Father is glorified by this: that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 13:15-17 + John 13:35 + John 15:8)

“If you continue in my Word [i.e. the application of my teachings], then you are truly my disciples; and you will thereby know the Truth, and the Truth will make you free.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 8:31-32)

“Whoever says ‘I abide in him’ must live as he lived.” ~ 1 John 2:6
