Page 942 … condemning God
“Every excuse for sin condemns God”
Fair enough, my dear. While even you must admit that the word “condemns” is more than a bit harsh, I admit that it can be reasonably stated that making excuses for our failings &/or enabling the misdeeds of others does flow against the Will of the biblical Father. That having been said, it is important to realize that this is not what I am doing herein, nor is it what I have ever claimed. Indeed, from the very beginning of our shared discourse, I have always maintained that each & every person must indeed “pay” for their “sins”; that each & every one of us must indeed reap what we sow – only what we sow, and yet what we sow nonetheless. This includes homosexuals who might be sinning in the privacy of their own homes, and this includes you & yours who are publicly (and arrogantly – and hypocritically) sinning by calling those same potential sins into the public limelight.
And THAT having been said, it is just as important for you & yours to finally come to realize that it is possible to read the Bible “bigger” (and thereby worship a “bigger” God) – by coming to understand A) that we do not make excuses for sin when we refuse to condemn others for the same, … and B) that it actually evidences a far deeper Faith when we refuse to criticize the failings of others – a Faith in a God who is as perfectly Loving and as magnificently Merciful as Jesus himself claimed Him to be (see Matthew 5:48, Luke 6:36, John 5:22 et al).
“And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways – to give the knowledge of salvation to his people via the forgiveness of their sins. By the tender mercy of our God, the dawn from on high continues to break upon us, giving light to those who sit in darkness and … guiding our feet onto the way of Peace.” ~ Luke 1:76-79
