“Every excuse for sin charges blame upon God, and virtually accuses him of tyranny” … Not accuses Him of tyranny, my dear – but rather correctly identifies Him as a tyrant!
You see, an accusation – by its very nature, contains a taint of unfoundedness. If God is indeed a perfectly Loving heavenly Father (as Jesus himself claims Him to be – see Matthew 5:48 + Luke 6:36 + John 5:22 et al), then to claim otherwise would indeed be an accusation. And yet the version of God that you & yours worship, however, is a tyrant – plain & simple. Indeed, the God you & yours have chosen to adore fulfills every single characteristic of that term … Consider the definition of “tyrant” from Webster’s Dictionary – “a ruler who has complete power and who uses that power in ways that cruel &/or unfair; a ruler who exercises absolute power oppressively &/or brutally.” Lucy, this is exactly the definition that your version of God embodies perfectly! … Indeed, according to yor own statements in this very thread, God has absolute power, He demands that He be worshipped wholeheartedly, He orders us all to strictly obey all of His commandments, and if anyone deigns to disobey Him or refuses to worship Him correctly, that person will burn for eternity in Hell as a consequence of his or her disobedience!!! That, my dear, is about as exact a reflection of “tyranny” as you ever will hear!
Of course, quite fortunately – for Christians & non-Christians alike, this is clearly NOT how Jesus Christ (or even much of the rest of the Bible) describes God at all … Consider:
“All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord; and all the families of the nations shall worship before him … The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast Love. The Lord is good to ALL, and his compassion is over ALL that he has made.” ~ Psalms 22:27 + Psalms 145:8-9
“On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples … And he will destroy on this mountain the shroud that is cast over all peoples, the sheet that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death forever. Then the Lord God will wipe away the tears from ALL faces, and the disgrace of his people he will take away from all the Earth.” ~ Isaiah 25:6-8
