Page 948 … Abandoning sin
“For God requires us, despite of our circumstances, to abandon our sin. For it is necessary to do so in order to serve God!”
Yes, and that is exactly the point, my dear … God requires US to abandon OUR sins. He does not want us to correct the sins of others! So please, Lucy – for the Love of the heavenly Father, and in the name of The Way of Christ, please abandon your sins … Please abandon your sin of arrogance – in the way you claim to possess the only correct interpretation of the Scriptures and the only proper way to follow them (see Matthew 18:3-4 + Matthew 23:12) … And please abandon your sin of hypocrisy – in the way you criticize and judge the sins of others while still actively sinning yourself (see Matthew 23:25-26) … And please abandon your sin of bigotry – in the way you single out the sins of homosexual pastors while ignoring or excusing the equally immoral sins of heterosexual reverends & straight preachers (see Matthew 7:1-5 + John 8:7) … Please abandon your sins towards homosexuals, my condemnatory Friend, and follow The Way of Christ in your dealings with them instead!
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father in Heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many deeds of power in your name?’ And I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; go away from me, you evildoers!’” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:21-23)
“Beware of practicing your piety before others in order to be seen by them; for then you have no reward from your Father in Heaven … Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom … Be perfect [in your Love] as your heavenly Father is perfect [in His] … Do not judge others, so that you might also not be judged. For with the judgment you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you receive in return … All who exalt themselves will be humbled, and all who humble themselves will be exalted.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 6:1 + Matthew 18:3-4 + Matthew 5:48 + Matthew 7:1-2 + Matthew 23:12)
“But I say to you that … if you insult a brother or sister, you will be liable to the council; and if you say, ‘You fool,’ you will be liable to the fire of Gehenna … You judge by human standards [i.e. according to the flesh]; I judge no one.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:22 + John 8:15)
“A new Commandment I give to you: that you Love one another. Just as I have Loved you, you also are to Love one another.” ~ Jesus Christ (John 13:34)
