Pages 954-955 … God’s perfect Grace
“It is irrational to expect that we can, by any grace received in this life, perfectly obey the law of God; that there is not grace and help enough afforded by God [for that].”
Fair enough, my Friend If this is truly the doctrine to which you wish to subscribe – a doctrine that assumes that God must do our saving with His ever-sufficient Grace, then the implications of the same are twofold:
ONE – Seeing as how God’s Grace is always enough (see Luke 6:36 + John 1:16 + John 5:22), and seeing as how His love is perfect and ever without limitation or blemish (see Matthew 5:48), then the Bible is correct when it repeatedly tells us that every single one of His children is going to to be ultimately saved by His most open of celestial Hearts … Please consider:
“All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord; and all the families of the nations shall worship before him” ~ Psalms 22:27
“O you, [God] who answers prayer. To you all flesh shall come … The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast Love. The Lord is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made.” ~ Psalms 65:2 + Psalms 145:8-9
“On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples … And he will destroy on this mountain the shroud that is cast over all peoples, the sheet that is spread over all nations. He will swallow up death forever. Then the Lord God will wipe away the tears from all faces, and the disgrace of his people he will take away from all the Earth.” ~ Isaiah 25:6-8
“I will not execute my fierce anger … For I am God and no mortal, the Holy One in your midst, and I will not come in wrath” ~ Hosea 11:9
“So it is not the will of my Father in Heaven that even one of these little ones should be lost … And all flesh shall see the salvation of God … Now he is God not of the dead, but of the living; and to Him all of them are alive … It is written in the prophets, ‘And they shall all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father [ultimately] comes to me … And I, once I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself … I do not judge anyone who hears my words and does not keep them; for I came not to judge the world, but to offer the world salvation.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:14 + Luke 3.6 + Luke 20:38 + John 6.45 + John 12:32 + John 12:47)
“God has imprisoned all in disobedience, that he might be merciful to all … Who are you to pass judgment on servants of another? It is before their own lord that they stand or fall. And they [all] will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make them stand.” ~ Romans 11:32 + Romans 14:4
“He has made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth in Christ, as a plan for the fullness of time; to gather up all things in him, all the things in Heaven and all the beings upon the Earth.” ~ Ephesians 1:9-10
TWO – Seeing as how it’s clearly God’s job to evaluate the worthiness of sinners, it is per se NOT YOUR JOB to do so. Hence, Jesus’ repeated calls for us all (including you & yours) to keep our mouths shut about the sins of others … Again, please consider:
“Do not judge, so that you may not be judged. For with the judgment you make you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get. Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own? … You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to identify the speck in your neighbor’s … Let only [she] who is without sin cast the first stone … Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees; you hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup [of others], but inside are full of greed and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of your own cup, so that the outside might also become truly clean.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:1-5 + John 8:7 + Matthew 23:25-26)
“Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whoever becomes humble like this young child is the greatest in the Kingdom … Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful … A new commandment I give to you: that you Love one another. Just as I have Loved, so you also are to Love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples: when you show Love for one another … Be perfect [in LOVE] therefore, just as [the LOVE] of your Father in Heaven is perfect.” ~ Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:3-4 + Luke 6:36 + John 13:34-35 + Matthew 5:48)
