Farewell Chicago! … (07/11/09)

Well, I departed from the amazing city of Chicago several days ago (July 8th), and have had time since then to reflect on the wonderful blessings that were bestowed upon me while residing there.

First of all, I am grateful to Richard, who invited me to the Windy City to care for his very-cool cat (Ed) while he was in Italy.  Ed and & I became close friends during my stay, and the way he is stoically dealing with his medical issues proved to be a great inspiration to me.

I was also blessed to be able to provide a number of atypical services for fellow humans (my raison d’etre!) while in C-Town.   From baby-sitting (where my charges taught me about the deeper meanings of sharing, truth & love) to cleaning and organizing the basement storage facility of a civil rights law firm (where i learned to re-appreciate clean air!), my days were filled with opportunities to ease others’ burdens.  And, as allWays, I got “the better end of the deal” — experiencing the Peace of Oneness while doing so, the intensity of which rose and fell in proportion to how difficult or easy each task was to fulfill.

Anyway, I am currently in Seattle (Washington) caring for another friend’s cat (Ozzie) and writing a Love-based commentary of the New Testament based on my years of radically applying its all-Loving verses to my life and its living (more on this in a later entry).

In essence, after the “hustle-&-bustle” of Chicago, I have been blessed these days with the opportunity to simply pause and BE — to BE in wonderment over the beauty that constantly surrounds me, to BE in gratitude for the conscious life I have been given, to BE in Love with every being I encounter as I flow through this amazing time of our mutual re-awakening.

I will be caring for Ozzie through August 5th, and then visiting with his “owners” through the 13th (though it is still unclear as to who actually owns whom!).  Thereafter, I plan to fly to southern Oregon to visit with family … I’ll keep you updated on all travels as they occur and/or crystallize.

Until then, be Now!
