093/499 … to keep Moving (09/24/08)
… and here is the the depiction of the third station — where Jesus falls for the first time during his walk to Golgotha; where Jesus received no help after stumbling; when he had to get up and push through on his own power. This is a vision apropos for a pilgrimage, where the fundamental purpose is to relieve yourself of all conventional support structures, in order to face your fears and desires alone — to finally free yourself from their grasp.
“The journey of life is like riding a bicycle. We know that we get on the bicycle at some point and start to move. We know that we will someday stop moving and dismount. And we know that if we stop moving and do not choose to dismount, we will fall.” ~ inspired by William Golding
