Day 089h: That all will one day Fall … (July 12, 2019)
The 11th century fortress ruins on the mount overlooking Castrojeriz provided a steadily glowing reminder – poignant to the ego, transcendent to the Soul – that “this too, shall one day pass”; that no matter how “civilized” or “advanced” or “awakened” we might claim to be, our community too will one day fall away and be replaced by another. The ego laments this truth and thus seeks to ignore or deny it, and yet the Soul revels in the same; knowing that because we indeed do not have forever, we must remember to stride forth that much more boldly into our every given today …

“When you remember that you always have something to offer to the world, then you become truly humble, and can finally revel fully in your life. A tree that offers no fruit remains unyielding and erect. And yet when that same tree is laden with fruit, it bends down to all passersby. If you are all pride and ego, then nobody will receive anything worthwhile from you, and you will as such never receive anything worthwhile from life. When you exude genuine generosity, however, it is a sign that you have the humility required to appreciate life and reap Oneness – its truest reward.” ~ inspired by Sri Chinmoy
