Day 083o: Returning to Oneness … (July 06, 2019)
After I made it back onto The Way it didn’t take long for me to pass by an open church – a welcome surprise indeed; welcome because of the blazing heat that had once again enveloped me fully, and a surprise because the day was seemingly stuck in the exact middle of the Spanish siesta. As it turned out, there was a wedding going on in said enclave, and no one seemed to mind when I strolled right through the door and reveled in the sanctuary’s cool (& gold-encrusted) confines …

“The highest purpose of any religious tradition is not to construct huge temples or broadcast shiny commandments on the outside, but rather to inspire us to construct temples of justice & compassion and compose gilded litanies of Caring & Kindness inside our hearts … For if you and I are to live truly religious lives, it mustn’t be that we talk about religion or think about it earnestly, but rather that our manner of living becomes transformed by the same. In truth, only if we try to be kind & helpful to other people will we in the end find our back to the Divine.” ~ inspired by the 14th Dalai Lama & Ludwig Wittgenstein
