Day 082e: Signposts for the Soul … (July 05, 2019)

Yes, “God bless with(in) [me]”, indeed!
“There was a time when I did not know how to cherish sanctity, and had no understanding of the call to honor – even with the smallest of voices – the overly generous grace that ever surrounds us all. And so I chose to travel as many a Holy One has traveled; as a jester of burning faith; a fool or a forest prince brimming with an unbridled love for the Cosmic Divine. And so I walked its southern shores, thanking it all for oysters and waves and fish and porpoises. And I walked its western wildernesses; praising it all for birdsongs and green valleys and storms of sheet lightning. And I walked its northern forests; seeing God reflected in pools of creekwater and the eyes of chipmunks and bluejays. I talked to yard dogs and tanagers as if they were my friends, and shared willingly with fellow travelers along those sun-basked highways — intoxicated with a love of the celestial-laden mundane, swollen with charity like a rainbow, seeing the One in the many, and always connecting every distant field and every delineated horizon within the Galaxy’s single glorious arc. Sometimes I failed in this mission, no doubt, and yet I ever returned to seeing the world with eyes incapable of anything but wonder, and a speaking with a tongue fluent only in praise.” ~ inspired by Pat Conroy
