Day 077h: Thirsting for the Quest … (June 30, 2019)

There is in me an insatiable thirst for the quest; for discovering visages more grand and things far greater than ourselves. Beyond every horizon is a murky haze which beckons me to its call. I seek movement in its direction for that movement’s sake. And in this larger journey there is no destination except the verb of motion itself. This is why I seek to dive into the unknown and allow its wisdom to take me away. And this is why, when it is finished with me, it always brings me back and things are never the same thereafter … This is the reason that we must each set out, often without a destination, often with only the subtle-yet-overpowering drive to rediscover Meaning & Beauty – to walk where search itself is our only direction. Literature and religion are predicated on the notion of journey, movement– pilgrimage it’s called in religion, theme in art, plot in literature, kindness & compassion in relationship. As such let us ever walk towards that that greater meaning; let us ever thirst for the Quest.” ~ inspired by Yousef Alqamoussi & Patricia Hampl
