Day 076s: What makes the Celebration … (June 29, 2019)
The warm revelry continued into the evening, with me immensely enjoying both the renewal of already established friendships (namely with Jean Marc & Stephane) and the making of new alliances as well (primarily with Berend, who as walking his pilgrimage from Ireland to Santiago to raise money to combat childhood cancer) … Like the rest of my wandering compatriots, I knew full well on this night that I was incredibly Blessed, and I went to bed deeply appreciative of the same …

“True and heartfelt celebration is a highly proactive state, a conscious choice to simultaneously express one’s reverence for and one’s appreciation of Life itself. Anything less intentional is but a passive state of festiveness – a brash-yet-feeble effusion of mere fun or pleasure or entertainment. Celebration, on the other hand, is a direct confrontation with Joy & Gratitude; a full giving of attention to the transcendent meaning of one’s relationships and one’s life. Celebration always comes unbridled from within, and it is always graced by loud laughter – a laughter that is poison to fear; a laughter that is carbonated joy; a laughter that chases away all shadow; a laughter that is the sunbeam of the Soul.” ~ inspired by Abraham Heschel & George R.R. Martin & Ann Lamott & Thomas Mann
