“A greater portion of the forces that sent him trudging across the dry white prairies was not a mundane ‘love of life’ but rather a love of Love itself; not a self-centered adoration of happiness or health or wealth or success, but rather a Soul-centered reverence for kindness and charity and service and sacrifice. Indeed, the greatest evidence that the Cosmos in which he breathed and through which he walked had indeed been designed by the greatest of Artists was the fact that every single human being alive – in truth everyone who had ever lived in the past & anyone who would ever live through the future – had the ability to pause in any moment just long enough to set aside all his or her fears & longings in order to Care for the other anyway. And even better was the fact that this most graceful gift was more potently available in all the times it was least tempting to engage. And so it was that humans were implanted with a Soul – the Child of God within that allowed them all at will to become the masters of all their pain, frustration, anger, or sadness.
