Day 087c: Knowing our Human Right … (July 10, 2019)
I made it back to the hostel in short order, made Conchi her Peace Stone, gave her the same (along with a proper farewell hug, the latter of which being shared with dear Fernando as well*), said a fond farewell to Victor & Eva, and then flowed fluidly back out onto The Road – feeling much lighter as I did so; feeling as though whatever I had forgotten before had now been properly retrieved, that whatever I had neglected had indeed been fulfilled …

“We must in truth awaken. In truth, if we are going to find our callings, we must choose to live intentionally and audaciously and generously. And this latter choice is not an easy one and it doesn’t ever come naturally, and yet it’s how we were meant to truly live. This is the only way – I’m quite convinced of this – the only way we can find the greater satisfaction we’ve been searching for. And although there are legitimate health, business, and psychological benefits to living a generous life, none of them are the motivation required to bring real Love to life. In order to know meaning we must give, yes, and yet in order to truly give we must let generosity be its own intention; we must give whatever we have to give, and we must give solely for the sake of giving.” ~ inspired by Jeff Goins
“Like singing in the wind or writing on the surface of a lake, how cold is the human heart when its own warmth is all that it seeks. Tomorrow’s rain will wash these stains away, and something loving in our hearts will ever remain. Know this Human Right – BE what you’ve come here for!” ~ inspired by Sting
*Gonzalo was still asleep at the time, though had already received his Peace Stone the day before.
