After checking in and setting aside my handful of things and taking a warm shower (being sure to leave subsequent pilgrims almost all the hot water that had been deprived of me by my fellow resident travelers when I had arrived later in the day those eleven years ago) to cleanse my body of dust and weariness, I went outside to sit in a glorious sunbeam to cleanse my Soul of the same …

“If you have but the humility to deeply look, every place is a repository of gold & jewels. In truth, no matter where you might find yourself, you only have to sit peacefully and give yourself a short stretch of time – just long enough to once more pick up that silent silver thread that ties it all together – a gentle word, a soft laugh, a subtle smile, a chance meeting, a dear friend of a dear friend of someone dear you have just met, the Soulmate in every stranger. And then it happens: even the most insipid & insignificant place suddenly becomes a mirror of the world, a window on life, an expression of oneness, a reflection of God.” ~ inspired by Tiziano Terzani
